Synchronicity, Bliss, and Gratitude
This past Sunday, after the Service and fellowship, a small group of our community members embarked on our traditional pilgrimage to Pagetown, Ohio - the birthplace of our co-founder, Myrtle Fillmore.
Two years prior, when we resumed the tradition of the yearly voyage to Pagetown, the group of participants noticed that several of the headstones had fallen to such a state of disrepair over the decades that, in some cases, it was tough to discern memorial stones from piles of gravel. Just about all of us in attendance spoke the thought aloud, "Someone should do something about this..." Then we let the matter go for the moment and gathered in prayer and observed the Silence... After this point, the pilgrimage was complete, and we returned home.
Fast forward to August 2018, where we met a rather interesting fellow as we arrived at the Ohio Historical Marker for Pagetown (pictured above), a man by the name of Timothy Foor, who was, in short, the answer to a prayer.
I invite you to review this story, recently aired on WBNS-10TV, featuring Mr. Foor:
Through an online genealogy search, he has discovered (and shared with us Sunday) that he is Myrtle Fillmore's second cousin, three times removed...
It "just so happened" that Tim Foor had not heard of the Pagetown cemetery... until two years ago, right around this time of year... and it led to his own journey of self-discovery, clarity of vision, and purpose. The work he and his family have done, restoring these headstones and honoring those who came before, is nothing short of remarkable.
All of this has served as a powerful reminder to me of the power of creative thought, of prayer, and of the spoken word. A shared, seemingly casual statement such as, "Someone should do something about these stones..." followed by a shared prayer experience, has manifested and is demonstrating in such a wonderful, wonderful way... and a man learns more about his family heritage, while being paid good money to do work he truly loves to do...
Spiritual Law, always, is at work in our lives, dear friends, and nothing can keep us from our good! My heart is filled to overflowing with bliss, awe, wonder, and fulfillment at the outworking of Divine Law. I hope the same for each of you.
This Sunday, we'll wrap up our gratitude series with Rev. Linda Poole Kennedy-Jackson. See you then!
Gratefully Yours,
Daryn L. Wells
Editor In-Chief

I will tell of all your wonderful deeds

The Spiritual Snippet
For this week's Spiritual Snippet, we offer "I AM," with Jennifer Burnett at the Mile Hi Church:
|
The Light of Unity
"You are a child of God, an expression of God, so there can be nothing of you
that is not innately God.
"You are created as a perfect idea in God-mind, and your purpose in life is to outpicture this idea in expression.
"And there is no better way to worship God that to rightly express Him
.
"

2018 World Day of Prayer September 13, 2018
Courage to Heal
I am a healing presence.
World Day of Prayer is a 24-hour prayer vigil and meditation.
We invite you to join us in Unity on this very special day,
during which we hold our world in prayer.
2018 marks the 25th Anniversary of World Day of Prayer!
This year's theme is "Courage To Heal," and we hold the above affirmation in thought, with Silent Unity, throughout this 24-hour period.
Guiding Prayer for 2018:
Aligning my mind and heart with the mind and heart of God, I center myself in Pure Being. In a state of spiritual realization, I remember I can never be broken, limited, or unworthy.
Courageously, I rise into my true spiritual nature in this moment of healing. I heal the whole of me as I accept that I am brave. I am bright. I am beautiful.
As I heal in body, mind, and spirit, I support healing in my family, my community, the earth, and the world.
Centered in Pure Being, I am a healing presence.
