Semester Break Residence Hall Information
Residence Hall Closing Dates
All residence halls close during the semester break. All students must leave campus no later than Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12 Noon.   

Residence halls reopen Friday, January 12, 2018 at 12 Noon.
Spring classes begin on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.

Free Shuttles:
Bus/Train Station and the Airport
Shuttle Service to the Airport and Regional Transportation Center (Bus/Train station) are available for students when leaving for the semester break. Click here for details.

Academic Support
The semester break is an important time for reflection. Review first semester grades (posted in MySlice) with your student and discuss them. If your student is struggling ask some questions.

  • Did they use any of the academic support programs on campus like the Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS)?

  • Did they visit with their professors during office hours?

  • Did they visit the academic advising or career office in their school or college?

Financial Aid and Scholarships
File Now for 2018-2019 Financial Aid

Students returning for the fall 2018/spring 2019 academic year, should file the 2018-2019 federal FAFSA and CSS/Financial Aid Profile applications. Although the returning student undergraduate financial aid deadline is February 1, you are encouraged to file your applications now. Read more on the application process .
When filing the FAFSA, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool that helps you to accurately and quickly complete the application.
Late applications will result in aid being awarded on a funds-available basis. Wondering if your student’s financial aid will renew? Visit the Renewing Financial Aid webpage.
