Commencement weekend is a joyous and celebratory time for all students, families, faculty and staff. Along with commending the wonderful accomplishments of your student, there are many questions and concerns regarding ceremonies, parking, lodging arrangements, accessibility and more.

Hancock International Airport is currently undergoing major renovations that may cause delays. Please allow extra time when planning your air travel.

End of Semester Logistics
Moving out of the Residence Halls

Unless they are graduating, all students are expected to move out of their residence hall within 24 hours of their last final, but no later than Thursday, May 10.

As Sadler and Lawrinson residence halls are being used for Commencement housing, only a limited number of requests to stay late will be granted. Students living in the Sheraton must move out by noon on Wednesday, May 9 to permit the Sheraton to prepare for incoming guests.
Visiting Campus on May 6? Mountain Goat Run Will Affect Traffic Flow

On the morning of Sunday, May 6, more than 3,000 athletes will test their physical and mental limits in the Mountain Goat Run. The course will take runners through the neighborhoods surrounding the campus .
Lazybones Summer Storage
Syracuse University endorses just one summer storage company--Lazybones. They are the only storage provider authorized to provide room to room delivery service in the residence halls.

Ten Tons of Love
Thursday, May 3 through Friday, May 11

The Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services leads an effort to collect clothes and household items and donates them to the Rescue Mission of Syracuse. Through its history, the Ten Tons of Love initiative has collected literally tons of items that help thousands of families in the Syracuse area. All donated items will support programs and services designed to help fight hunger and homelessness in the community.

Is your student short on credits?
Summer@Syracuse to the rescue!

Summer is a great time for your student to get back on track. Your student can earn credits from home. There are more than 100 online classes and more than 500 on-campus classes available.

Returning Student Move-In Dates
Fall 2018 classes begin on Monday, August 27

Students assigned to North Campus residence halls for fall 2018, may move back to campus beginning Friday, August 24. Travel arrangements for returning students should reflect a return date no earlier than Friday, August 24.

Student assigned to South Campus apartments only, may move in beginning Thursday, August 23.
Returning Student Volunteers
Needed for Goon Squad
Since 1944, Goons have been helping incoming first-year and transfer students adjust to college life and spreading school spirit throughout campus. Volunteers are a friendly group of returning students who greet first-year and transfer students as they arrive on campus and help them move into their residence halls.
