KWS Health and Illness Guidelines
As we near the holiday season and the weather has shifted, flu, colds, and viruses become more prevalent. The first line of defense is hand washing! Please remind, review and encourage proper hand washing with your child. Here are some general KWS guidelines for keeping sick children home to help prevent the spread of illness in our school.
Please keep your child home if the following are present:
- Fever above 100 degrees F. Children should be fever free (without the use of fever reducing medication, i.e. Tylenol or Ibuprofen) for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
- Vomiting and diarrhea (no vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours before returning to KWS.)
- Any new (undiagnosed - please see your physician) rash.
