How to Help
| We have plenty of areas where we need help to make mountain biking better in the Tahoe Area.
-Trail Work Volunteers
-Help with food donations and lunch transport for Trail Days.
-Project Managers- Have an idea? Willing to put in the work on it? We also have several projects that could use help to divide the load.
-Donations of prizes for Trail Days and other events.
-Photographers to document all the awesome work we are doing.
- Graphic Design assistance for layout and other artwork.
-Ride Leaders
-Trail Angels to help with logistics and shuttles for TAMBA rides.

Greetings,
Reminder of our TAMBA meeting this Wednesday, April 25 at the Hacienda restaurant in Incline Village. The meeting starts at 6:30pm and you can see the meeting agenda here.
Join the Truckee Pump Track Project at Cottonwood's Tuesday night for a ragin' party to raise money for the Truckee Pump Track. Beer, live music, tons of raffle prizes and all your friends.
As the snow is quickly melting, a friendly reminder to stay off of trails until they are adequately free of run-off. This doesn't necessarily mean completely dry. We all know a damp trail can be nicely smoothed out and packed by plenty of tires rolling over it during this window. But use common sense, if water is running down the trail, or snow patches cause you to leave the trail path, it may be a little too soon to ride there. If you do encounter snow patches, please go over or through them rather than blaze your own trail around them. Keep the singletrack single!
For updates on current trail conditions, check out our website. If you can provide updates for trails not on this list, please e-mail our webmaster.
Thanks, kj

Trail Crew Leaders Needed
| We have partnered with the Tahoe Rim Trail Association to support TAMBA members who have trail work experience and would like to become Crew Leaders. Having enough crew leaders to support trail days is essential to expanding the amount of trail work we can do under our Volunteer Agreement with the Forest Service. The training is May 19-20 with a separate trail design class on Friday, May 18. It is $100 for the Crew Leader class and another $50 to add Friday's class. TAMBA will reimburse half of the cost of the class(s) for up to six of our members who complete the class and participate in our trail days. There are only a few slots left, so check out the class info here and sign up through the TRTA website. If it fills up and you would like to get in, please reply to this e-mail and we "should" be able to accommodate you.
If you are new to trail building and want to learn more about building great trails, there is also plenty of room left in the Fundamentals of Trail Construction track the same weekend.

Race Season is underway!
| If you're excited about mountain bike racing, there are plenty of opportunities for you this year.
Starting this Thursday and running until the end of June is the Reno Wheelmen MTB Twilight Series at various venues around Reno. Races are free for Women and Juniors and the first four races are also part of the Sierra Youth Cycle League which has categories for middle school and high school kids.
Shortly after the Reno Twilights end, the Northstar Thursday Night race series start and run until Mid August.
The Sierra Cup Series, which donated about $1500 to TAMBA last year starts May 12 in Vacaville with the Rockhopper Classic. This year it is an eight race cross-country series and also includes a four race Super-D series. It comes to the Tahoe area with the Pine Nut Cracker in Gardnerville on May 19.
And if endurance is your thing, there is a 4N8 hour race in Tahoe City on June 16 and the Tahoe Trail 100k at Northstar on July 22.
For the Gravity minded, Northstar is offering 8 Sunday DH races starting in July, plus the Pro GRT on August 3-5th and the Tara Llanes Classic on September 29-30.

Tahoe Mountain Bike Patrol
| The Tahoe Mountain Bike Patrol is accepting new members who attend the joint Bike Patrol/Trail Ambassador training weekend on June 9-10. The volunteer patrollers provide directions, education, assistance and medical response to all trail users. Based out of Spooner Lake, the patrol covers all bike-legal sections of the Tahoe Rim Trail through an agreement with the TRTA and is in the process of penning an agreement with the Forest Service to include other trails in the Basin. They are one of the largest chapter's in the country of IMBA's National Mountain Bike Patrol program.
