Pastor's Note

It is so good for Elma and me to take some time away. I work every day and am at my desk by 0730 (that's 7:30 a.m.), but the time away allows my brain to think and strategize for new sermon series and new ideas for teaching. Burning those brain cells takes time, and away time helps me to think and pray through those needs. I'm excited to be back home in a couple of weeks and preaching. I've been so blessed in my time in the Psalms while I am away. It is exciting to see God open up new and fresh ideas and thoughts for your mind.

If you are planning on going with me to Israel next May, please get your deposit in by the end of July. I have more interest in going than we have spaces available. So, please go to the church home page and follow the directions to reserve your slot.

Please pray for our teams of young people that are in ministry this summer. We are hearing of hundreds accepting Christ through their service. We have young people ministering in nine camps as well as some interns and a number of our kids preaching and teaching multiple times every day right now in the Philippines. Training and sending these young people into His service is the sacrifice our ministry makes. Few other ministries want to make such a sacrifice. It is hard. Every staff member takes a lower salary. Every member of the church lives a bit lower in their standard of living than their neighbor.

Elma and I had a wonderful time in London over July 4, and we attended Charles Spurgeon's Metropolitan Tabernacle. Dr. Peter Masters has pastored there for 47 years and had a tremendous message on Romans 12:1 and the word "sacrifice." He talked about Christians being called to live below their means so they can give away for Christ's Kingdom. It was a powerful testimony to what Tri-City is called to do. That calling is different than almost every other church around us. We sacrifice to train the next generation. We sacrifice to win the next generation. We sacrifice so the fame and glory of His name will be made great all around the world.

Live for Jesus!! His Kingdom and its furtherance is the only worthwhile endeavor of your life.

Kneeling to stand,

Summer Bus Ministry

Looking for a way to be a blessing this summer? Our bus ministry is looking for volunteers to help during the summer months. Volunteers help load passengers and share a helping hand (and a joyful smile!). For details or to volunteer, contact Steve Lenzmeier (480-459-0381).
