Pastor's Note

We had a wonderful Sunday as we celebrate d our 48 th anniversary of Tri-City Baptist Church. We recognized those who have served with longevity in our ministry and prayed for all the teachers and administrators in our congregation. We had a special TBC Ministries staff choir. We heard a new song that Dr. Bryson wrote recently. We also had 719 in worship on a late Sunday in August. I joked and said we should have a staff choir every week if they can draw that kind of crowd.
PMDiscipleship, our Sunday evening classes , began this week as well as Awana for our younger people. I will be preaching out of the last half of Romans 1 this Sunday morning and pick up in II Corinthians 12 on Sunday night. Come to your Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) at 9:15 a .m . and then morning worship at 10:30 a .m. The ABF is the reaching/teaching arm of the church. It is a great place to grow and serve!
Remember to pray for our Christian school as they are having their special spiritual emphasis this week. We know that some young people in our school do not know the Savior. Please pray for Evangelist Jeremy Frazor as he ministers the Word to our teens.
Please keep the leaders of our church in your prayers! Satan continually attacks us, sometimes through those who wish our ministry harm and sometimes, like Peter when he told Christ NOT to go to the cross, by people who mean well but are being influenced by Satan. God has given Tri-City a great and unique ministry. Please keep it and all its ministries in your prayers!
Kneeling to stand,

Book of the Month
The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus
The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus explains the greatest of Bible themes clearly and logically. Rather than focusing on one part and missing the whole, the author chronologically binds together the entire text into one great universal drama, looking at events from the perspective of those who experienced history in the making. The results are sometimes comical, sometimes frightening, but always true to the intent of the text. When you are done reading it, you may find yourself believing "the Book" like you never have before.

Look for your copy in the TBC Bookstore today!

Ladies of all ages are invited to attend our annual Luncheon with our missionary wives. The theme this year will be "Black & White," held on September 16 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the church foyer.

Every year this is a wonderful time to get to know the missionary wives who are at the IBM Missions Conference, hear what God is doing through their ministries, and learn how we can be a blessing and pray for them. You won't want to miss it, so save the date!

The lunch cost will be $10 each. Contact Celeste Parkinson for more details or visit the table in the Foyer.
September 17-20
Our annual IBM Missions Conference and connected events are quickly approaching! Join us on Sunday, September 17 at our regular service times and Monday through Wednesday (Sept. 18-20) at 7:00 p.m. Bruce Hamilton, pastor at Hamilton Acres Baptist Church in Fairbanks, Alaska, will be the main speaker. Throughout the Conference we will hear from several of our missionaries: Mike & Becky Petersen, Roger & Keishla Papius, and Rob Burnett.

Mark these dates on your calendar, plan to attend, and pray that God would prepare, challenge, and change our hearts through this year's Missions Conference.

Saturday, September 30
We will be holding our third annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on Saturday, September 30. This holiday is celebrated in many Southeast Asian countries and is similar to our Thanksgiving.

Please pray for this wonderful outreach opportunity, that God would be preparing the hearts and minds of our community to hear the Gospel presentation and that He would use us for His honor and glory.

Who can you invite? Invitations will be available soon, so be planning now.
