TCA's 23rd Annual Members Day - Recap
|
TCA's 23
rd Annual Members' Day was held on May 10, 2017. The event was well attended with over three hundred member companies in attendance and sixty exhibitors displaying their company's product(s) and service(s). It was the perfect day for our Members to network with other members and build new relationships.
A delicious BBQ lunch was served on the lawn and our door prize winner of a Sonso Play 3 was Clint Kissoon, Chair of George Brown College, Construction Management program.
Before the event came to an end, TCA's Chairman and Walsh Canada's Vice President, Business Group Leader, Craig Lesurf delivered remarks on the importance of safety and encouraged them to sign our League of Champions Jersey in honour of TCA Safety Month.
Thank you to all the members who participated and helped make the 23rd Annual Members' Day Event a great success.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

This year, as part of our Members Day events we had an Industry Panel discussion on the Past, Present and Future of our industry, the topic was quite fitting in light of our 150th anniversary. Our four panel experts included: Roland Nicholls, President, Milne & Nicholls Ltd, Frank Decaria, President & CEO, Eastern Construction, Marcus Gillam, President, Gillam Group Inc. and Markku Allison, Director of Engagement and Innovation, Chandos Construction, President, IPDA.
The discussion was largely focused on how the construction industry has evolved over the last 150 years and what is in store for the future of our industry!

Once again, our YCL is taking part in the MLSE Team Up Challenge in an effort to raise funds for Camp Trillium. Last year our YCL was able to raise over $34,000 - this year they have raised their goal to $40,000! Please help our YCL reach their goal and support them today!

CCDC 2 2008 Stipulated Price Contract & Standard Document Seminar
Standard prime contract between Owner and prime Contractor to perform the required work for a single, pre-determined fixed price or lump sum, regardless of the Contractor's actual costs.
Come and learn directly from Eric Lee, Canadian Construction Association Executive Secretary of CCDC to better understand the roles, responsibilities and risk profiles of the different parties in CCDC 2. There will also be an overview and Q&A period of Canadian Standard Construction Documents.

Project of the Month
Rosehill Pumping Station and Installation
Issued for tender by the City of Toronto, the project is for the Rehabilitation of Rosehill Pumping Station and Installation of Standby Power. The Rosehill Pumping Station is located at 240 Mt Pleasant Road in Toronto, south of St. Clair Avenue and is one of the eighteen pumping stations operated by Toronto Water.
The City will be carrying out waterproofing and structure rehabilitation work on the Rosehill Reservoir at David Balfour Park. These necessary upgrades will help to ensure the structural integrity of the reservoir, extend its service life, and bring the infrastructure to a state of good repair. Project value is estimated at over $15 million dollars.
