Pastor's Note
Summer of praise: "Got Favor?"

We've all faced bullies from time to time. In the story of the birth of Samuel, Peninnah fits the part of the bully perfectly in 1 Samuel 1 . She harasses Hannah because Hannah couldn't bear children (v. 6). The bullying is described in powerful terms: Peninnah (aka "her rival") used to provoke her grievously to irritate her" (v. 6).

Parking and Being Respectful of our Neighbors’ Yards on Sunday Mornings
Thank you to all who park off-site to leave spots open in the TCC lot! One additional request… as you walk over to TCC, please be respectful of our neighbors! Avoid parking on their lawns, blocking their driveways or walking across their properties.

Thank You for Donations to LULY...
Lifting Up Liberian Youth (LULY ), formally known as the Teddy Sayonkon Foundation (TSF), has filled the 10 barrels of supplies to be sent to Liberia. Thank you! Teddy will be heading to Liberia in August to personally distribute these supplies. Financial help toward the cost of shipping as well as for Teddy’s travel costs is still greatly needed.

LULY now has a Board of Directors (Teddy Sayonkon, Paul Church, Kevin Johnson and Debbie Wilson) and they are working on attaining 501c3 tax exempt status. Discussions are underway with an existing TCC supported mission organization, D.M. Stearns, to act as an umbrella mission’s organization for LULY. Feel free to reach out to anyone of the Board members for more information. Teddy can be reached at: elwa08@yahoo.com or 978-761-5239.

What We’re Learning in LTA in This Week
God is stronger than anyone and He can do things that would be impossible for you or me. He has proved this throughout history, but nowhere is this more evident than in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Because of what Jesus has done, we can have confidence. And when you put your faith in Jesus, you can live fully alive.

Pre-K
Week 2: You Are Wonderfully Made; Psalm 139:14
Story Focus: The Bible tells me God made me the way I am.

K-5
Week 2:  Philip and Nathanael; John 1:43-51
Bottom Line:  Find friends who help you trust Jesus
LTA Serves! Swimsuit Collection

LTA is collecting new and gently used swimsuits for children living at the Henderson Settlement, a mission in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky. The Settlement, located in the 2 nd poorest county in KY, provides a free summer recreation day program for 85-100 youth from kindergarten through high school. The program is in great need of basic summer necessities that many of the children cannot afford, such as swimsuits. Please touch base with your children and ask them to consider donating their old swimsuit to this program so campers can experience a healthy and cheerful summer. There is a collection box by the Children’s Ministry check in desk. Thank you!

Greeting Ministry

Greeters stand in the lobby and at the doors to help people into the building safely. Arrive at 9 am and help us foster a welcoming community.

Usher Ministry

Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God’s kingdom. You’re not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Sunday Hospitality / Coffee Hour

If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others during the 10:30 Fellowship time, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour!  You don’t even have to provide snacks – just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea (Easy instructions provided – click here to see what is involved!) Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members.

Counters

Are you accurate and reliable? Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers. Offering counters work in pairs.
Local Outreach
This year we are partnering with three local organizations to help us achieve the greatest impact in serving our community. We believe that working alongside local Christian organizations is the best way to serve our community. We also believe that serving the poor is an essential part of the Christian faith. If you are not yet involved in one of these ministries, sign up yourself and/or your LIFE group today!

For more information, please contact Jen Calverley or Nancy Griffin at 508-358-7717 or email frontdesk@tccwayland.org.
The Bridge House

The Bridge House, located in Framingham, is a faith-based recovery home for men with substance abuse problems. Their program provides individualized treatment including counseling to support the spiritual, physical, social and intellectual health of each person in recovery. TCC would like to provide a meal for 50 to Bridge House every month.
Pearl Street Cafe

Pearl Street Cafe provides dinner for 50-100 people every weeknight. TCC will provide 12 volunteers to serve dinner there every 1st and 5th Monday of the month from 4:30-7 pm. It's a great way to serve others in our community and no cooking experience is required. We simply wait on tables and serve food prepared by the Pearl St. Cafe staff . There is no age restriction on the volunteers. We hope you will join us and serve!
Open Table

Open Table is a local food pantry located in Maynard. We have short opening and closing shifts on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings to serve. Adults and High School age students can volunteer at the Open Table food pantry.
