Thank you!

2011 Art on the Avenue-Mary Lawler, Executive Director with

Robert Fiederlein, Avenue CDC Board President

Hello!

On behalf of the Avenue CDC Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and participating artists, I want to thank you for supporting the 15th Annual Art on the Avenue event.  This year's event was a great success with most of art being sold, including that of 20 student artists from Marshall Middle School in the Near Northside.

Art on the Avenue is a critical event in that we showcase the work of more than 300 local artists each year, as well as raise funds for Avenue CDC's affordable housing programs, including foreclosure prevention counseling.

We had a selection of more than 500 pieces of art from over 300 local artists-wow!  With such a wide selection of art, not everything sold.  We have extended bidding on the remaining five mailboxes, but hurry - bidding will close at midnight on Sunday, November 20th!  All mailbox proceeds benefit the affordable housing programs of Avenue CDC.  (Click for Mailbox info/photos)

We look forward to partnering with you again to support local artists and to meet the housing needs of Houston's working families.

Sincerely,

Mary Lawler
