Dear Reader,

I wanted to let you know that my new solo novel, THE FORGOTTEN ROOM, goes on sale today, Tuesday, May 12.

I'm very excited about this book for a number of reasons. First, it reprises my series character, the "enigmalogist" Jeremy Logan. Dr. Logan's job is to investigate cases of the unexpected, the bizarre, and the unexplainable. The supernatural sleuth was once a very popular literary hero (for good reason!) and I'm delighted to see the genre thriving again today.

Second, my recent novels have been set in some very exotic locations--the bottom of the ocean; the frozen wastes above the Arctic circle; the vast trackless swamp known as the Sudd that lies south of the Egyptian desert. This time, my novel plays out closer to home, in the elegant resort town of Newport. Strange and terrible things have begun to occur in the coastal mansion which is home to Lux, the country's oldest and most respected think tank. Logan is called in to investigate. In short order he discovers a hidden room in the mansion's west wing, sealed up and forgotten for decades. But it's a discovery that will ultimately have far-reaching consequences: for the think tank and, more dangerously, for Logan himself.

If you get a chance to read THE FORGOTTEN ROOM, I hope you'll let me know what you think. But most of all I want to offer my gratitude for your ongoing interest. Without your enthusiasm, Jeremy Logan would never have seen the light of day. Thank you.

Best wishes,

Lincoln Child
