WEEK 3 A Call to Expectation
DAY 16 A Call to Righteousness
FOCUS
We move into Day 16 with the thoughts of the high calling of God for South Carolina...and that is the call to righteousness. We see in Proverbs 14:34 that "righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." We declared on Day 15 that South Carolina will continue to lead and not secede. What the enemy has done in the past has been broken by the Body of Christ, and we are positioned now to continue moving forward and leading...our desire in South Carolina is to lead in righteousness. We are well aware of the enemy of our soul. We are aware of where our weaknesses and unrighteousness have been in the past. The highest form of spiritual warfare is knowing and doing the Word of God. When our state and our nation raises the bar, aligns itself with the plumb line of God's righteousness and truth, and yields to the workings of the Holy Spirit, we see healing and deliverance, changed lives, renewal, transformation, and God's will manifested.
RESPOND
Be ready in season and out of season to speak about righteousness in government, in the Body of Christ, and wherever life takes you. Identify unrighteous areas and bring righteousness to them through your prayers and the words you speak. As you have opportunity, encourage your governmental and church leaders to be bold in challenging the status quo and raising the standards in South Carolina and our nation.
REPENT
Confess and repent of any heart issues and behavior, personally and then for the state, that keep people in bondage, i.e. Stand in the gap in repentance for governmental leaders, businesses, churches, families, etc. The Holy Spirit will show you specific areas of bondage and sin from which we need to turn. Repent of times we have kept people in bondage because of unforgiveness, or even words we have spoken. Repent of a lack of diligence in shutting the door to the enemy on behalf of our state and its leaders. We need to confess and repent of unrighteousness, defilement, deceit, pride, all kinds of immorality, and ungodly decisions. Confess and repent of times when we saw negative, ungodly things on the news and neglected to lift those situations up in prayer, and times when we have put political correctness in place of His righteousness. Confess and repent of the millions of abortions in the state and country as well as adopting an unbiblical definition of marriage.
PRAY
A good place to start is to stand in the gap for South Carolina and depend upon the Holy Spirit to reveal strategies for prayer and intercession. Ask Him to show you the enemy assignments you need to cancel and how to fill that void with specific blessings and prophetic declarations. Instead of always asking the Lord to do something, thank Him for what He has already done and is doing. Job 22:28 says, "Decree a thing, and it will be established unto you." Decree that the cancer of sin and unrighteousness will stop and decree God's truth, His Word, and Christ's finished work into our state, nation, government, businesses, churches, and families. We have His promises that He watches over His Word to perform it (Jer. 1:12), and His Word will not return void (Is. 55:11).
WORSHIP
Meditate on Psalm 89:14: "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne". Exalt the Lord, as He is righteous and declares us righteous the moment we become believers in Christ. Picture His righteousness and His justice being the foundation of South Carolina and the nation. Expect God to hear us and move on our behalf.
