WEDNESDAYNIGHT SEPTEMBER 29th
THE ETTIE STREET PROJECT

The members of Ettie Sreet Project have been steady figures in the Bay Area music scene for more than a decade. They come together to produce sounds that are deeply melodic with a subterranean intensity. Guitar, vocals, bass, drums, and electronic gadgets bring forth an organic groove, fueling the high energy live performance. The meeting of music and technology pushes this trio in new directions, yet they continue to bring it back to its raw live elements.

9PM GROW UP
About Grow Up:
Grow Up is a sophisticated night of disco, boogie, italo, and other assorted dance musics as performed by the DJs Hotthobo, Pat Les Stache and Fenstar. After being fed up with the sleazy side of popular dance nights in San Francisco, promoter Hotthobo (formerly of WORK and Pillow Talk) combined forces with similarly minded DJs, producers, and artists and to create Grow Up, a night that highlights their favorite dance tunes and genres new and old, with the focus being specifically on those elements. Each monthly edition of Grow Up features a guest DJ or live performance. There is no cover unless noted.

THIS MONTHS GUESTS;

Jon Blunck

A few years ago, Jon Blunck decided that instead of driving to LA every week to hear the best underground boogie tracks around (all on OG wax every monday night at Carbon Bar in Culver City-FUNKMOSPHERE!!), maybe he could borrow the formula & start something in the bay. Luckily, D-F and the funkmosphere boys gave him encouragement, so he immediately spent his entire inheritance on a booming sound system (granpa Blunck would certainly not have approved), & cajoled his buddy Jacob, & 11 other record fanatics, into starting sweaterfunk in the basement of the Li-Po lounge in chinatown, SF. You can find JB there every sunday. He's the bald, lumbering dypsomaniac running up & down the stairs delivering drinks to people (mostly himself), & drooling on other peoples record bags. He also works at the 2 best record stores in the world (Rooky Ricardo's & the Groove Merchant-both on lower Haight), & loves pointing customers in the right direction.
