On July 18, the Honorable Mélanie Joly was appointed as the new Minister of Tourism, Official Languages & La Francophonie. TIAC looks forward to working closely with her to continue growing Canada’s tourism industry.

Key representatives from the Canadian tourism industry, including TIAC, recently returned from a successful trade mission to China to market tourism in Canada.

On July 11, the Beyond Pre-Clearance event in Ottawa focussed on biometrics initiatives and their benefits to businesses and travellers.

TourismHR has released insightful labour reports on immigrants & non-permanent residents and Indigenous tourism workers.

The Government of Canada is accepting grant funding applications for projects that will increase accessibility in workplaces and community spaces through its Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF).

// ROCKY MOUNTAINEER AUCTION

Grey County Tourism, in association with the Blue Mountain Village Foundation, has launched an online auction in memory of Don Braden, former President of the Blue Mountain Village Association and chair of the Grey County Tourism Advisory Committee. The auction features a first‑class journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer valued at $4,900, a prize that was originally won through TIAC.
