What would you like to improve in your next collective agreement?

Annual general membership meetings are underway and we are asking members in attendance to consider and identify the main things they would like to see addressed or improved upon in their collective agreements with their employers.

Agreement renewal bargaining begins soon with the collective agreement covering Heartland Livestock Services that expires on December 31, 2017. Following close behind, the Wild West Steelhead agreement expires on February 28, 2018.

Bargaining in 2018 will continue with six collective agreements that expire on October 31, 2018 as follows:
  • Advance Tank Centres Ltd. and Advance Tank Production - Local 8
  • Discovery Co-op - Local 17
  • Lake Country Co-op - Local 16
  • Lloydminster Co-op - Local 18
  • Viterra - Locals 1 and 2.
And finally, these two collective agreements will expire on December 31, 2018:
  • Hi-Pro Feeds - Local 9
  • Richardson International Ltd. - Local 14.
Collective bargaining is your opportunity to negotiate the terms and conditions of your employment. Now is the time to consider the aspects of your agreement that are of special interest to you and share your ideas with your GSU officers and union staff.

Destructive habits you need to stop

Sometimes we just can't get out of our own way.

Are you creating a self-fulfilling prophecy by insisting you are terrible with numbers? Can you draw the line between pushing yourself and beating yourself up? Identifying self-destructive habits is the first step in creating self-awareness and stopping a pattern of tearing yourself apart from within.
