Thomas Wright is director of the Center of the United States and Europe and foreign policy fellow in the Project on International Order and Strategy at the Brookings Institution. Wright has a doctorate from Georgetown University and master's degrees from Cambridge  and University College Dublin. He has held fellowships at Harvard and Princeton, and his writing has appeared in the American Political Science Review, Washington Quarterly, Financial Times, The Washington Post, as well as in a number of international media outlets.
