Proposed Changes to the DeKalb County Schools Fundraising Policy - Submit your input by June 30, 2017
A proposed revision to Board Policy KEB related to Fundraising (Solicitations) and accompanying Regulation KEB-R(1) was presented to the Board of Education at the May 15, 2017 meeting. That policy  and regulation are now available for public comment at the following links:

The District welcomes your input as we work together to create a policy and regulation to best serve and support DeKalb County School District students.  Please provide all comments by  June 30, 2017 for review and consideration by the Board prior to the July 10, 2017 meeting.

Free Lacrosse Clinics!! 
Druid Lakes Youth Lacrosse Association (DLYLA) will hold FREE lacrosse clinics for beginner girls and boys this summer.
Have fun learning the fastest growing sport for free! All ages welcome.  *No equipment needed, Just bring a water bottle

DCSD Offers Summer Reading Opportunities 
This summer, students can read anywhere, anytime, and virtually anything this summer, because  Get Georgia Reading partner  myON   is delivering thousands of free books   to computer and mobile devices that students can access 24 hours a day-every day-from May 3 through Aug. 31, 2017.
 
myON  includes:
  • More than 13,000 enhanced digital texts from Capstone and over 60 other publishers, as well as daily news articles.
  • A library searchable by genre, topic, and target Lexile┬« range to engage students with just-right texts. 
  • Picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, literary non-fiction, and informational texts that appeal to a variety of ages.
  • Flexible reading scaffolds: audio narration to model fluency, highlighted text, and embedded dictionaries.
  • Spanish and dual-language titles.
