Salem Cinema, Kino Lorber & Gathr Films will present the ALIVE MIND CINEMA SERIES on the 4th Monday of every month! Each screening will be followed by a discussion led by local leaders in our community.


FAITH CONNECTIONS is a spectacular exploration of varied paths of devotion that converge at one of the world's most extraordinary religious events, the Kumbh Mela. Pan Nalin's thoughtful documentary is a genuinely spiritual journey.

To respect his father's wish, the Indian filmmaker Pan Nalin travels to the biggest gathering on earth, the Kumbh Mela. His cinematic writing narrates encounters with remarkable people of mind and meditation; a runaway kid, a Sadhu, a mother who has lost her son, a Yoga Guru who found an abandoned baby, and a Ganja (cannabis) supplying Holy man. A meditation on time and faith expressed in words and images, FAITH CONNECTIONS explores the power of devotion.

 

The September 22nd screening of Faith Connections will be followed by a discussion led by Rohini Kishore Das of IndusSalem, a non-profit and non-political organization set up to promote peaceful co-existence among the nations of the Indian Sub-continent (namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) and the United States by fostering friendship and mutual appreciation of their cultures.

The ALIVE MIND series will feature one-time screenings of fascinating films that are related to personal transformation, progressive spirituality and cultural change.
Each screening will be followed by a discussion led by local leaders in our community.

Individual tickets or series memberships are available. You will have the opportunity to purchase either a 3-Month Subscription ($40) or 6-Month Subscription ($70) to the series. In addition, the screenings are open to non-members and customers can purchase tickets to individual shows for $15 instead of a membership.
