TSC Technology Tip
Retiring & Resigning Employees - Data Retrieval
|
|
In the fall of 2016, the TSC Technology Department established a connection between their systems and those in the HR Department. As a result, activating and disabling staff network accounts is an automated process. Due to this automation, an employee's account status is based on an their employment active/inactive dates in the HR Department’s systems.
For employees retiring or resigning at the end of the 17-18 school year, their TSC network account will be disabled on May 31, 2018.
If a retiring/resigning teacher is teaching summer school, their account will remain active until that assignment has concluded.
Staff are responsible for exporting any data they wish to keep prior to separating employment with the TSC. For staff using Google Drive, all files can be easily exported using
Google Takeout
. Google Takeout also exports Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts data. TSC staff are responsible for returning any TSC-owned equipment to the appropriate representative before leaving their position.

Contribution change for HSA
|
Effective for calendar year 2018, the annual Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution for an individual with self-only coverage is $3,450. On March 5, the IRS reduced the previously released 2018 family contribution limit for HSAs from $6,900 to $6,850. This change is a result of the tax reform law (P.L. 115-97).
After careful consideration and hearing from stakeholders of the administrative and financial burden of refunding an over payment of $50 for individuals that had made the full $6,900 contribution, the IRS reconsidered its earlier decision to reduce the contribution limit. On Thursday, April 26, the IRS announced the 2018 contribution limit for a family HSA to be $6,900. No additional changes were made.

Inspiration Matters
With Kathy Nimmer
|
|
We believe in young people or we would not be working so closely with them every day. Still, when an opportunity comes to see them shine, it is forever uplifting. In
this link
, you will see a teenager with autism performing the National Anthem. Truly, I am not sure which part of this video is more inspiring: his performance or the explosion of support from his peers when his performance ends. May all of it be exactly what you need in order to renew your spirit this day.
