Letter from the President

Don't let that summer heat get in the way of joining us for our next 2017 TTT Race Series event, the High Point Sprint Triathlon! This race was our highest attended race, and I would love to see even more people out there competing and volunteering this time around! This is also one of the best times to get some additional points in the Race Series standings, as it's worth double points. We're also sponsoring the event, so be sure to wear your TTT shirt or race kit to show some team spirit!

Speaking of the Race Series standings, don't forget that we've made a points change this year that allows you to get points for any other races you participate in from our preferred race providers. This means you can get an extra 5 points for any race you participate in that is put on by Trivium Racing, Jones Racing Company, Junction 311, Rev3 Triathlon, and Ironman. But to get those extra points, you've got to email them in. Hit the Contact page on the TTT website and select the Race Series Points subject to submit your additional races!

Attendance at our High Point Sprint Triathlon course pre-rides and runs has been fantastic lately, and we're looking to continue that trend! We're going to start pre-rides and runs for the NC State Triathlon Championship course from Lake Townsend starting the weekend after High Point. So keep an eye on the Facebook group for those posts to go up. We typically start our rides out at about 7am, and will ride two loops of the bike course, followed by a run of the run course. These rides are typically around 15-17 mph pace, but are no-drop rides. We'll stop at corners, and have someone to hang back with any slower riders to be sure you're not alone out there. These rides are great opportunities to preview the race courses, and get a mental edge on what the course has to throw at you before race day. Hope to see you out there!

This month's Athlete of the Month is Lori Harrington!

Meet Lori! Lori has been part of the TTT for two years now and has accomplished a lot in those two years!  She is not new to the sport, having done her first triathlon in 2011. She had a unique experience to race Lake Logan Olympic last year, on her birthday, and placed 1st in her age group! Lori has qualified for Boston more than once, and has qualified to run it  again next year. She will also be training for her next 70.3 in Chattanooga. She is motivating, fun and always smiling whether training or racing.
If you see Lori, congratulate her on being this month's AOM!

Team Meeting at Mary's house,  Wednesday , AUGUST 9th.

PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE: Continuing our Summer Theme we are combining our monthly TTT Team Meeting with a Workout. We will be holding a Open Water Swim Clinic. This clinic will be a great opportunity to work on any open water swim concerns you may have. We will have an Open Forum on sighting, spacing, drafting, and recommendations when things don't go as planned. We will have Kakak and SUP support to allow you the ability to practice in a non competive environment. For those that may not be intersted in swimming we could still use a couple more people for water craft support. The event will start at 6:30. Pizza and Drinks will be provided. Also, depending on the number of people attending it is recemmended that you attempt to car pool or park at Food Lion on the corner of 220 and 150 and run or bike over to Mary's. Please RSVP so we can coordinate any transportation and Pizza's
