After a fairly quiet July, we're ready to kick up some dust with the second half of the 2016 race season!  The last half of the season includes the two final 2016 TTT Race Series races, the High Point Sprint Triathlon on August 13th, and the NC State Championship Sprint Triathlon on October 2nd.  In addition, we'll also have a presence at the NC Tri Club Championship on August 20th and a strong showing at Ironman 70.3 Augusta on September 25th.  For the TTT Race Series races, we'll have our team tent setup with some refreshments and friendly faces.
Speaking of friendly faces, we're always looking for volunteers to help out at team events.  If you're not planning to participate in the TTT Race Series races, contact us if you're interested in volunteering, or contact Trivium Racing and let them know that you're willing to help out.  Depending on what kind of help they need and how long you're willing to help for, you can often times earn yourself a discount at a future Trivium race!  And volunteering at the TTT tent or with the race organizer will still earn you points towards the TTT Race Series standings (and extra points for wearing your TTT shirt!)
Also, we're making an adjustment to how we're tracking the TTT Race Series points starting with the High Point Sprint Triathlon.  At the TTT tent, we will have a signup sheet for you to indicate which of the categories you will be earning points for at that race.  So make sure you come by the tent and get your name down.  If you don't sign it at the tent, you won't earn your TTT Race Series points.  We're looking forward to a strong showing at the fast approaching High Point Sprint Triathlon!

This month's AOM is Valerie Bryant ! Valerie is a team member who motivates everyone who is around her. Her smile and laugh is infectious. When she sets her mind on a goal, there is no stopping her. She just earned the most run miles for June in her virtual challenge group. For her birthday a few weeks ago, she swam 44 laps, ran 4.4 out and back and rode 44.44 miles (actually more than that, but the 44 is more relevant).
Great job and congratulations to Valerie.

This month's team meeting is scheduled for Friday, August 12th at 6:30 PM in Earth Fare on Battleground.  We will be hosting Dr. Damien Rodulfo from Greensboro Sports Performance, our TTT Platinum Sponsor.  Most all of us have had those workouts and races where we finish up and feel exhausted.  Dr. Rodulfo will be discussing techniques and best practices for improved physical recovery, followed by some question and
answer time.
Arrive at 6:30 PM to socialize and eat from Earth Fare's awesome hot/cold food selection.
The presentation will start at 7:15 PM.

August 13th High Point Sprint: Next up for the TTT Race Series is the High Point Sprint Triathlon!  This will be the third race in the TTT Race Series this year, and it is always a popular one.  The race is on August 13th, and consists of a 500m swim at Oak Hollow Lake, followed by a 12.4 mile bike through country roads near High Point, and then an out-and-back 3.1 mile run with a fast, downhill finish.  This event is great for any skill and experience level.
August 20th NC Tri Club Championship: We will have the TTT tent present, and will have some team members around to help with setup, watching your gear, and cheering you on during the event.  Let's get out there and make a big impression for the first NC Tri Club Championship!

Monday Recovery Runs:
There are now two Monday recovery runs, one starting at 6 PM from the Payless Shoes off Battleground, and one at 6pm from the Ragsdale YMCA parking lot near Jamestown.  Both of these are paced to be slow and are about 3 miles long.  Anyone of any speed or ability is welcome to show up and run for as long or as little as you'd like, and socialize after the run is over.
As with all workouts and events, consult the TTT Facebook page for any last minute changes.
