March marks the start of the multisport season in the Triad. If you weren't at the NE Park Duathlon last weekend, we hope you will make it to the first race of the TTT Race Series, the Hagan Stone Duathlon, in a few weeks!

ATHLETE OF THE MONTH!
This month's AOM is Rose Hoyle! Rose and her husband Jonathan are triathletes and CrossFit enthusiasts. A Level I Crossfit instructor and triathlon coach. Rose is applying the principles of Crossfit Endurance to train for her Ironman 70.3 in Raleigh.   Click here to read her short Q&A.




MARCH TEAM MEETING
This month's team meeting will take place at EarthFare in Greensboro on Friday March 11 th and will feature a presentation by Rose Hoyle, Level I Crossfit and USAT coach. Rose will talk about her journey in CrossFit and specifically about Crossfit endurance! CFE is quickly gaining in popularity as a proven philosophy when it comes to building strength AND endurance for Triathlon or other endurance events. The meeting starts at 6:30 with food/socializing, and the program starts at 7:15 pm. EarthFare has an awesome hot/cold buffet so come enjoy a bite which getting to know your fellow triathletes. Open to all.

TTT Upcoming Events
1)     March 5 th @ 1 PM - Meeting at the end of the Hagan Stone Park road, The TTT will be doing a pre-ride and Pre-run of the Hagan Stone Duathlon Course. This will involve one loop of the 2 loop bike course followed by a 5k run on the run course. This is a great way to gain an inside edge on the course and prepare for the first race in the TTT Race series! https://www.facebook.com/events/483234085215900/
 
2)     March 19 th @ 4PM. Meeting at Re:Cycles Bike Shop, Re:Cycles will be conducting a bike maintenance class for the TTT! This is a great opportunity to get see Re:cycles and learn critical bike maintence to keep your bike rolling like new.  Covering pre-ride checklists, the clinic will also cover how to do minor gear adjustments, tweak brakes, adjust spokes and fix flat tires. 
 
3) April 2nd (To be confirmed). Open Water Swim Clinic. Given by US Master Swimming Instructor, Simon Cloutier, this clinic will go through several aspects of Open Water Swims. From techniques for sighting, drafting, dealing with environmental factors, and turn buoys, this clinic will also help you get acclimated to contact with other athletes and mass start scenarios. Location and time to be confirmed.


TRAINING


Monday Recovery Runs:
 
Starting at 6 PM from the Payless Shoes (Target Shopping center near corner of Battleground/Lawndale) This is a conversationally paced out and back recovery run along the greenway with distances up to 5k. The greenway is sparely lit, so it is a good idea to bring along a light to see any debris on the greenway.


Track Tuesday:
 
5:30 AM @ Greensboro Day School Track: Interval focused running. We provide the workout which typically lasts 45-60 minutes. We all turn in circles, so no one gets dropped and you can modify the workout to suit your fitness level.
 
5:30 PM @ NC A&T Track: Join Fleet Feet's coach Carl for an intense AND rewarding track workout. Free of charge and lighted track. See Fleet Feet Greensboro's website for additional info.
 
Thursday Trainer Nights:
 
Bring your bike, indoor trainer, water, and a few towels to participate in High Intensity Interval Training. This is the best way to get a great cardiovascular workout while significantly boosting your power and speed on the bike. Be on the lookout for our FB posts confirming location and time.
 
Friday Swim:
 
6 AM @ Bryan or Spears YMCA: We'll provide the workout which typically lasts 60 minutes. Focused on drills to help improve your technique. All level's and abilities welcome.
