Triad Triathlon Team Newsletter
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
August was a great month for the TTT! We had a great turnout for the monthly meeting and had fun playing triathlon trivia with TTT board member, Wes Koonts.

We also had over 24 TTT members participate in the 2 nd race of the TTT Race Series at the High Point sprint Triathlon! Way to go team! The TTT Race Series standings are updated on our website (click here to see them).  # TTTrocks J

The list of TTT members signed up for one of the 2016 TTT Ironman destination races is growing.

Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga
We have at least 12 TTT members registered for the Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga race next May. Registration is still open with the next price increase only 2 weeks away... In addition, the TTT has organized a 16 week coached group program to help our athletes train for Chattanooga. Details about the program were provided in the last newsletter. Feel free to contact triadtriteam@gmail.com for additional details.

Ironman Canada
Registration is also open for this EPIC destination race. Located on the West Coast of Canada, this race is a true family destination race. Currently have 5 TTT members registered for this event! If you are thinking of signing up for a full distance Ironman race, please give this race serious consideration. The venue is simply amazing as it is located in a ski resort. You can ski/snowboard, mountain bike, and go to the beach all within a 5 minute walk from the hotel!

Ironman 70.3  Augusta
This race is also a perennial favorite.  With a downstream swim (like Chattanooga) and rolling bike course, this race attracts one of the largest # of participants on the Ironman circuit. Registration is expected to open on September 28th

BEACH TO BATTLESHIP TRIATHLON

This year's edition of the B2B is Saturday October 17th in Wilmington, NC. The TTT has a LARGE contingent of members signed up for either the Half or Full Iron distances. (Currently ~20!). This is the PERFECT race for anyone new to the distance or seeking a PR. The swim course is in the intercostal water way and is known to have a very generous... last year saw a 2.4 mile swim in as little as 33 minutes! The bike course is flat to gently rolling with no significant elevation changes... other than a bridge. The run course is fast and flat. Check them out and join our delegation. This will be a fun event!
