SBA T.W.I.B Notes


SBA 10u Cruz:

SBA CANES Cruz 10u started their 2015 campaign off with 3 consistent performances led by pitching and defense. The Canes won 9-1 in all three contests while recording 31 strikeouts in 15 innings of work led by Joey Hickman, Fabian Walker, Nick Garrido, Tony Gregory, Langston Rupert, and Clayton Sherwood. Toney Mcfadden took a pivotal base hit away in RF gunning a runner out at 1B with an impressive pick by Fabian Walker.  Langston Rupert and Joey Hickman led the Canes' offense combining for 9-12. The Canes' offense was sparked by timely hits by Eli Fletcher, Clayton Sherwood and Fabian Walker. More impressively 10 of 11 Canes had at least one RBI over the weekend, proving to play unselfish baseball. Tied in the Championship game 1-1 Justin Quick blasted a long fly ball to CF scoring the go ahead run. Finally, the Canes took 4 HBPs as Nick Morris, Fabian Walker, Nick Garrido, and Tony Gregory proudly took their free base!  The 10u Canes congratulate all the teams this past weekend!


 SBA 10U Canes Cruz followed week 1 with another Championship! The Canes were led by outstanding plays from our outfielders Eli Fletcher, Justin Quick, and Toney Mcfadden. Accompanied by Langston Rupert and Clayton Sherwood with standout plays in the infield. Nick Morris, Nick Garrido, and Toney Mcfadden helped surge the offense with hot bats. Additionally, great pitching led by Langston Rupert, Nicholas Noto, Clayton Sherwood, and Fabian Walker solidified the weekend.  Also, special recognition goes to Tony Gregory and Nick Garrido who threw a combined no-hitter in the Championship game. Special thanks goes to the assistant coaches: Jake Bennett, Jamie Honeycutt, and Matthew Evdemon!


 
SBA 10u Price:
Canes 10u Price went 3-2 over the weekend finishing runner up in the silver bracket. The Canes were led by Kenan Bowman on the mound giving up online 1 run in 5 innings of work. The canes outscored opponents 39-28. 

SBA 11u Torrence:

The 11u Torrence team went 4-0 this past weekend bringing the record to 10-1 thus far. This past weekends Gold Championship win gives the team a paid berth to Summer Nationals and Winter Nationals. The Team outscored opponents 38-7 with  timely hits, bunts and solid defense from the whole squad!
Top Pitchers: Zane Davis, Trace Ricketts, Caden Ryan, Donovan Henkel, and Jakob Torrence.
Top Hitters: Tyson Clawson, Jack Brandle, and Jake Stanley

SBA 11u Hall:

The team's first full weekend of play they got off to a rocky start losing 2 on Saturday but came back Sunday ready to play winning both games in dramatic fashion on their way to winning the Silver Bracket Championship.

The tone was set early Sunday by starting pitcher William Spang who struck out nine through four innings vs the Carolina Bandits. Jake Federico came in and closed the door pitching the final two innings to pick up the save. Offensively Luke Holland and William Spang led the 
with two hit and two runs scored each in a 5 -3 victory over the Bandits. The championship game against Mayhem Baseball was back and forth all game and was decided in
 the final inning of play. Down one in the top of the sixth the Canes put together an amazing offensive explosion scoring seven runs capped off by Robert Bauman's two hits in the inning. Ryan Scallin had a shut down inning in the bottom of the sixth to help capture the Silver Bracket Championship! Luke Holland came in in relief pitching outstanding to get the win and offense hero's were Ryan Scallin and Robert Bauman both having three hits a piece and a combined four runs and five RBI's between them. This win gives Coach Hall's 11u Team a free berth to the Summer Nationals and Winter Nationals.
