Shepherd's Campfire and Movie Night is tomorrow from 6 pm-9 pm! Bring your family and your neighbors to join your Shepherd brothers and sisters for an evening of fun. Dinner will be Taco-In-A-Bag for a free will offering, there will be yard games for all ages outside and a campfire in our fire ring. We will close out the evening with popcorn and a movie. The movie will be shown both in the backyard and in Shepherd's Hall. See you all there!
PASTOR'S PONDERINGS
Pastor's Ponderings for Sunday, August 6, 2017

Our texts for this week are:

As we approach the texts together I want you to "ponder" a couple of things....
Have you ever judged your problems in the light of your own resources?
The feeding of the 5,000 is one of only three events recorded in all four Gospels (the others are Jesus' baptism and His death and resurrection). What does this tell you about it? Why is it so important?
Why do you think God chooses to work through us to accomplish things in the world?

Bring these thoughts with this Sunday. And feel free to  email me with your thoughts or questions. I'd love to hear from you...really!

Blessings,

Pastor Renee

Ralph Reeder

A huge thank you to all who donated toilet paper to Ralph Reeder during the month of July. Our wall of toilet paper will be delivered there tomorrow. This was such an amazing display of service to our neighbor that we are going to do another drive in August. Only this time we will be collecting laundry detergent. Drop some off in the Ralph Reeder Bins near the office today!
Attention: Women of Shepherd!

You are invited to join Nesiah our women's Bible Study group.   Nesiah is a  non-denominational women's Bible Study that meets on Thursday mornings from
9:30-11:30.  Our first meeting this fall will be  Thursday, September 14 , at 9:30 am  We will have a "Meet and Greet" Brunch and distribute study books.

Nesiah  means "Miracle of God" in Hebrew, and the fellowship, support, and enrichment that women experience in this group is truly a "Miracle of God".  Ask anyone of us and we'll tell you how much this group means to us.  All women are welcome and we encourage you to bring a friend of any faith.  We hope you will consider joining us this fall.

Please r.s.v.p. to Daire Frank by Sept 10 if you would like to attend the brunch on Sept 14. email  or call 651-587-4165.
Fall Day of Service

Mark your Calendars for our Fall Day of Service, September 10: 10am worship, potluck lunch, many service projects to choose from!
Why We Serve: "[St. Paul] lays down this rule for a Christian life, that we should devote all our works to the welfare of others [such that] I will give myself, as a sort of Christ, to my neighbor, as Christ has given himself to me; and will do nothing in this life, except what I see is needful, advantageous, and wholesome for my neighbor, since by faith I abound in all good things in Christ." -Martin Luther, "Freedom of a Christian," 1520
