Nasty Nati Brass Band
Thursday, June 14, 7 p.m.
Mike Wade returns with the Nasty Nati Brass Band. Eleven pieces of power prove second line is first rate.This ensemble of brass, saxophones and drums describes themselves as "a socially conscious, New Orleans, second line-inspired brass band with our own jazz, fusion, funk and soulful sound."

The family-friendly performance takes place in Behringer-Crawford Museum’s amphitheater at  1600 Montague Road -Devou Park, Covington, KY 41011. In the event of rain, the music moves indoors. Doors open at 6 p.m. with food and refreshments, with the performance running from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12. Museum members pay for one admission and get the second one free. Adult beverages are available for purchase. Concert-goers can also purchase food by Colonial Cottage of Erlanger, KY, supporting local community organizations. Parking is free. 859-491-4003.  www.bcmuseum.org .

Chippie's Sensational Science Labs:
Splash Bash: Water Science
Tuesday, June 12, 1-2 p.m.
Who says you need a lake or pool to have fun in the water? Named for Behringer-Crawford Museum’s cheeky chipmunk mascot Chippie, this lab will cool off kids age 3-5 and introduce them to science with water and ice games and age-appropriate experiments. Location: Behringer-Crawford Museum, 1600 Montague Road-Devou Park, Covington, KY 41011. Cost: museum admission plus $3 lab fee per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Grand Days@BCM: The Great Outdoors
Thursday, June 14, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Grandparents and grandchildren spend the day together, engaged in The Great Outdoors-themed activities. Explore the new exhibit, stroll along the .25-mile Spring House nature trail behind NaturePlay@BCM, participate in nature-related activities, crafts and outdoor cooking!
For children aged 5-12 and their grandparents. Cost: members: $25 per couple; future members: $38 per couple (price includes museum admission). Additional children or "grands": $15. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required: call (859) 491-4003.

The Great Outdoors

The exhibit features a look back at outdoor activities of the past, with entries from William Behringer's journals and artifacts from the early 1900s that show how our favorite outdoor activities have changed -- and stayed the same -- over time.
Tom Bluemlein American Impressionist
Through July 29
Tom Bluemlein has spent his 30-year career creating works that are not only beautiful impressions of nature, but also give the viewer the feeling of the landscape. His works provide apt counterpoints to BCM's The Great Outdoors exhibit.

Cost is included with museum admission.
