Helping Needy Families Have A Brighter Future
OUR PURPOSE: Though we often focus on fundraising and support activities, Help Give Hope exists to provide year-round assistance to children and families-in-need, which is an everyday, ongoing effort. Requests for help come in daily and Murray and her team work tirelessly to screen and provide assistance. Help is provided in the form of rent and utilities assistance, emergency assistance (gas vouchers, clothing, etc.), furniture/appliances, car repairs and much more. Help Give Hope also gifts used cars to qualified families on a monthly basis. In February, through your in-kind donations, we helped 10 families—9 beds, 6 sets of bedding, 5 couches, 2 dryers 1 washer 1 TV. This is on top of cash assistance (rent, utilities assistance, gas vouchers, clothes vouchers, etc.).

Spring is no time to rest for Help Give Hope! With the worst of winter behind us (we hope!), we’re looking ahead to an exciting and very busy March, April, May and June!

Why do I work for Help Give Hope?
We make a difference.   I have worked in the non-profit arena my entire life. Help Give Hope is special. From the families we serve, to the volunteers I work with, it draws you in and takes hold of your heart. The ability to work with staff to make operational decisions, engaging with volunteers who support our mission and the direct family interaction is just so fulfilling.  Giving that hand up and seeing a family realize there is hope and there is someone who can help make a difference. No day is the same and each problem is unique.  Societal issues are more complex and complicated than even five years ago and these families are at the most risk.   Making that difference makes it all worth it.
