Helping Needy Families Have A Brighter Future
It is not earthly rank, nor birth, nor nationality, nor religious privilege, which proves that we are members of the family of God: it is love, a love that embraces all humanity. Ellen White
Fall Kickoff!
Help Give Hope’s mission is to help children-in-need and their families. This mission never takes a vacation it’s a 365 days a year job. To be perfectly honest, despite our year-round work, fall is our favorite time of year!
We finish our garage sale season with a bang (see below) and then jump feet-first into our three-month Christmas project that will ultimately impact the lives of 200-225 families and 600+ kids throughout Greene, Christian and Webster counties. It takes long hours, hard work, great planning and an incredible volunteer army to make it a reality, but the reward of seeing changed lives makes the workload light. Let’s take a closer look at Fall 2018 at Help Give Hope :

Our goal is to have the warehouse completely cleared in order to begin our Christmas Project. Come and be a part of the effort and take a look at the amazing amount of high quality items!

  • For the 2nd year in a row, in conjunction with area agencies, we will offer on Monday, September 17th all unsold items completely free of charge to selected families-in-need. What a great opportunity to further support many struggling families in Southwest Missouri!

Christmas Sign-Up
When:
Saturday, September 29 th
Where:
Reed Academy, 2000 N. Lyon
Time:
9am – 4pm

This is the official start of our 2018 Christmas Project!   In partnership with the Springfield Public Schools, we will sign up approximately 350-400 families who have requested assistance for the holidays. We will then spend the month of October and early November conducting home-visits with each of these families in order to select the 200-225 we will help this year. We still need volunteers to help with signup whether for one or two hours or all day. This involves asking questions and completing paperwork for each family.
We are in greatest need of help from 9am till noon.
Home Visits
Beginning the first of October through the first of November we will send teams to visit the homes of all families who have applied for Christmas assistance.

These home visits involve going into a home, talking with the head of the household, completing appropriate worksheets, and making recommendations on acceptance or denial. Our home visit volunteers always work in pairs and no one is sent out without proper training and preparation.  In many ways, it’s the most rewarding aspect of the Christmas project, to spend time with families and to witness up-close the struggles all too common in our community.

ROSS CONSTRUCTION GROUP

ABOUT

Kenny Ross has been in the business of building for over 36 years when, in 1982, he became a principal in the construction firm Morelock-Ross. In fact, it was Morelock-Ross that built the beautiful Help Give Hope warehouse in 2011, so we know first-hand the quality and dedication that goes into each of their construction projects. Earlier this year, Kenny and his sons, Andy and David, opened Ross Construction Group where they continue to specialize in commercial, medical, office and multi-family construction. Their projects range from small infills to large multi-million dollar design build projects. They concentrate on tailoring the project based on the client’s specific goals and needs.

Help Give Hope takes great pride in the Ross family's strong and consistent support of Help Give Hope for over 18 years. Great company, great people! Check them out at  www.rosscgllc.com
Thank you, Ross Construction Group!
