Next week, 17-24 September, the World Week for Peace for Palestine and Israel will take place (WWPPI).  During this week -- which includes the International Day of Prayer for Peace on 21 September -- church organisations, congregations, and people of faith will be organising worship services, educational events, and acts of support in favour of peace and justice for Israelis and Palestinians.

We invite you to join the week by organising your own action, especially as this year marks the sad commemoration of 50 years of occupation resulting in the denial of human rights and the deterioration of conditions throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.

Pax Christi UK has created a number of resources for use in observance of this week which you can find on their website. You can also find resources on the  website of the World Council of Churches  .

In addition, Pax Christi International is willing to send a letter to your national church leaders in which we would respectfully urge the Catholic Church to increase its focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  In the letter, we will also ask your country's Cardinal/Archbishop/Bishop to take action and listen to the voices of Palestinians while referring to the Open Letter of the National Coalition of Christian Organizations in Palestine (NCCOP) from 12 June 2017.  You can click here to read the letter which we can send to your national church leaders.

If you agree to have Pax Christi International send out this letter, then please c ontact Advocacy Officer Alice Kooij ( a.kooij@paxchristi.net ) and send her the information requested in the green text in the letter.  She will then send you a copy of the letter which -- if you want -- can also be shared with your network as well as ours through our communication channels.

In addition to this, Pax Christi International will send a similar letter to our contacts at the Vatican and inform the WCC and NCCOP about this action that we have taken.

Sincerely,

Greet Vanaerschot
Secretary General, Pax Christi International
