An Evening with Renowned Archaeologist David Hurst Thomas
Presented by Mission San Luis at Mission San Luis
Thursday, Jan 19, 2017

Mission San Luis invites the public to a special appearance by Dr. David Hurst Thomas, Curator at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.  Dr. Thomas' illustrated talk will cover the most recent archaeological evidence from across the North American Spanish borderlands, including the four decades of on-going excavations on St. Catherines Island in Georgia. Highlights of his research on the island include the rediscovery, through remote-sensing, of the long-lost Santa Catalina de Guale mission established in 1587. Thomas will examine the connections between individual missions and their broader relationship with lands beyond Spanish control.

Jamey Johnson with Chris Hennessee

Eleven-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson is "one of the greatest country singers of our time," according to the Washington Post. He is one of only a few people in the history of country music to win two Song of the Year Awards from both the CMA and ACMs.
His 2008 album, That Lonesome Song, was certified platinum for 1 million in sales, and his 2010 ambitious double album, The Guitar Song, received a gold certification.  In addition, he won two Song of the Year  Trophies, for "Give It Away" and "In Color," both from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.

Mozart in the Jungle
Presented by Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall
Saturday, Jan 21, 2017

Mozart once said, "Our riches, being in our brains, die with us . . . ." How fortunate for us that this statement is utterly untrue and that, through performances of his music, we are able to enjoy the riches of Mozart's unparalleled talent. This concert offers a sampling of the great composer's genius, starting with his Symphony No. 25, which he wrote at the tender age of 17, and ending with his exuberant "Jupiter" Symphony, the last of his career written 15 years later.  Between these two works will be a selection of Mozart's greatest arias, showcasing why music historian Robert Greenberg has written, "Mozart's operas vie with each other to be considered among the greatest achievements of human artistic striving."

Presented by Mickee Faust Club - Community Theater for the Weird Community at The Warehouse
Friday, Jan 20, 2017

A new regime is coming into power in America, and the Mickee Faust Club is spoiling for a fight.
"This means WAR!" squeaks Mickee Faust, the cigar-puffing, rodent leader of Tallahassee's community theater for the weird and queer community. "There's room for only one foul-mouthed, temperamentally unstable, cartoonish would-be dictator in this country and it aint gonna be Orange Julius! Yeah, he has the military might of the entire United States behind him. So what? We've got -hold your breath-humor and satire on ours!"
