Traffic and Parking Lot Reminders
As we have adjusted to our new bell schedule, it takes some time for the flow of traffic to settle in. It is a challenge when we have a couple roads in and over 2,100 students coming and going every day. Please review the information about pick-up and drop-off procedures. We always ask that everyone be aware of students walking or on bikes and to take caution when driving near campus.

Sept 7 is Last Day to Register for PSAT
This is a reminder that registration for the October 10th PSAT/NMSQT closes on September 7 . The test is recommended for 10-11th graders who are in Algebra II or above and planning to apply directly to a 4-year college. Freshmen are able to take the test if they would like to practice, but due to concerns with over-testing and student stress, are not encouraged to test. Students planning to start at a community college also do not need to test.  PSAT practice/student information guides are available now in the counseling office for any student who signs up for the PSAT. Please have your student pick up a guide in the counseling office if they will be testing.

Use this link to register: https://user.totalregistration.net/PSAT/52497 .

The test will be held Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 during the school day. We will have a late start that day, so test takers will not miss class.

For more information about the PSAT/NMSQT, please visit the College Board website here .
Starting August 31, Wheels has added buses on Monday and Friday mornings on the Routes 602 and 604 serving FHS to accommodate the MWF late start schedule. The morning bus schedules to FHS on Monday and Friday will be the same as they currently are on Wednesday. For more information on the new bus schedules, please visit the Wheels website here .
Principal's Friday Forum on September 21
Come one, come all for the first Principal's Friday Forum of this school year on Friday, September 14 at 9 a.m. in room C-6. Hear first-hand from Principal Bull about goings on at Foothill. These informal meetings are a great way to ask questions or address concerns regarding the school. Please limit discussions to broad school topics and not specific issues with your student. Light refreshments provided by the PTSA.
A Heads-Up for Seniors from the Counseling Department!
Counselors will be meeting with all seniors to discuss post-high school plans, and will be reviewing the college application process beginning next week through the end of the month.

Every senior who plans to apply directly to a four-year college will receive a packet of information detailing everything you need to know about the college application process. In order to best prepare for these meetings, start making a list of colleges you want to apply to and feel free to come with questions for your counselors. Parents, please review these packets with your students. This is a very exciting time for our seniors!

If you are planning to go to community college or a trade school or maybe have a unique plan to you, please let your counselor know. We will check in with you briefly now, and more detailed information regarding community college applications will come to your student in January.

Counselors will be off campus on September 10 th  for the annual UC counseling conference, September 19 th  for the CSU conference, and September 27 th  for the FAFSA conference. We are looking forward to receiving up to date information to share with all of you!
FAFSA & Financial Aid Night on November 8
Save the date for Thursday, November 8 th  at 6:30 pm for a FAFSA and Financial Aid Night with Amador Valley in the FHS Multi-Purpose Room.

Counselors will also be offering optional college application labs during Flex Time as we get closer to college deadlines. We realize that this is a very busy time of year, and completing college applications can be overwhelming. Students will be able to sign up for our college application labs to work on their applications, and ask additional questions. Details and specific dates will be coming soon.

As always, all students may complete an appointment slip request to meet with their counselor individually.
