Taste, explore and enjoy at Western Winter Gala
Spend a beautiful winter night with friends and neighbors at the Highlands Ranch Mansion - all
while tasting fine whiskeys and raising money for an important local cause.

The Highlands Ranch Park & Recreation Foundation's inaugural Western Winter Gala will be from 7 - 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 24. The evening includes a whiskey tasting from six distilleries and handcrafted small plates catered by Catering by Design. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.

Nomination forms due March 2 for Metro District director election
Self-nomination and acceptance forms for people interested in running for a director seat on the Metro District Board of Directors must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 2 at the Metro District office, 62 Plaza Drive on the southwest corner of Broadway and Plaza Drive. Forms are available at the Metro District office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., or online at highlandsranch.org.
Seats are open, all for four-year terms, in each of the following Metro District regions: Northwest, South Central, Southeast and West Central. To view a map outlining these regions, click here.  
Applications for an absentee ballot may be filed with the Metro District's designated election official, Terry Nolan, at the above address during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until the close of business on Tuesday, May 1.  All absentee ballots must be returned to the designated election official by 7 p.m. on election day, which is Tuesday, May 8.

Celebrate Valentine's Day at the Mansion

Celebrate Valentine's Day early this year at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. Valentines at the Mansion is Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Bring your sweetheart, come with a group of friends or bring your kids and treat yourself to a day of fun.
The event is an open house format and offers guests the opportunity to dance, enjoy music, sample sweet treats and tour the historic home. The event is free and welcomes guests of all ages. A $5 suggested donation will benefit the American Heart Association in recognition of American Heart Month.

Public input requested on ADA transition plan
In 2017, the Metro District contracted with a consultant to conduct an on-site review of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance in Metro District parks and facilities. The Metro District's ADA Transition Plan proposes enhancements and modifications to certain parks and facilities to bring them into compliance with ADA requirements.

The Metro District strives to offer accessibility for everyone and public feedback on the plan is encouraged. The Transition Plan will be available for public review and comment for 60 days.
