Our experienced well-read staff is eager to share their favorites of the new publishing season and help you find books appropriate for any age, reading level, and interest. We are pleased to offer open house attendees a 25% discount on any in-stock material during our event. In addition, we are featuring author signings, freebies, give-aways, door prizes, and refreshments. Please remember that registered educators are always entitled to a 20% discount on classroom materials so if you are qualified, please register with us soon.

Jeffery Schatzer

Author Jeffery Schatzer will be on hand to meet fans, sign books, and brainstorm with educators. Jeffery has been a true friend of Pooh and you might know him best as Santa Claus from his books, The Bird in Santa's Beard and the sequels. His picture book, Runaway Garden is the Michigan Reads One State, One Children's Book selection for 2010. Middle grade students will enjoy his historical fiction work set in Michigan and featuring the dynamic Professor Tuesday, the newest installment of which has just been released and focuses on the Underground Railroad.

We welcome special guest author Sue Thoms to our annual Teacher Open House on Tuesday evening. Sue writes for the Grand Rapids Press and has written a couple of our favorite picture books: Cesar Takes a Break and The Twelve Days of Christmas in Michigan.
