Big shoutouts to the teachers and staff at the following schools for signing up to learn more about the awesome new Bright Bytes data tool coming soon to SCS. Cordova High, Overton High, Sheffield High, Oakhaven Middle, John P. Freeman Optional School and Shady Grove Elementary all had in-person presentations recently from the Decision Analytics & Information Management team. Bright Bytes is going to change the way you interact with student data by providing a single point of information, direct connections to District interventions and the ability to easily analyz e ongoing interventions. This fact sheet has more details. Remember, if you're interested in a presentation at your school, tell your principal to email gravescj@scsk12.org.
Hiring Alert! The excess teacher job fair is April 10.
The HR Recruitment team is working diligently to ensure all excessed teachers have positions for next school year. We’re hosting a hiring event to connect you with principals on  Tuesday, April 10, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at White Station Middle School. If you plan to attend, please  RSVP by  Monday, April 9. Leaving SCS? We'll miss you, but we want to reward you for telling us early, too!
To assist with early hiring for the coming school year, we're offering an  early resignation notification incentive. If you plan on resigning before the 2018-19 school year, let us know by April 27 , and you could keep your medical coverage through the summer. Click here for full details. 
It's crunch time! Only nine days left for Kids Kan!
We asked, and you delivered! We've seen an increase in our Kids Kan food drive participation. If you've donated, thank you for helping SCS support Mid-South families in need. If you haven't donated yet ( or just want to donate more), help us reach our District goal of 384,000 pounds of food by April 13 ( that's only nine days away!). Donate your non-perishable foods or monetary donations at any SCS school.
There's a new playground in town... for grown-ups!
If you thought only kids get to enjoy recess, think again! A new gym is opening in Memphis, and teachers are on the VIP list for RECESS! Recess is a new midtown fitness facility designed to combine fun and fitness after a long day in the classroom. If you're not already excited for Recess, it gets better! Teachers get a 20-percent discount on services. Check out the grand opening on April 14 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. for sample classes, demos and more.
