Help us thank Mid-South first responders, veterans and active military by creating a thank you card! Hundreds of students participate in this great project every year, but staff is welcome to take part, too. We'll be collecting cards at the BOE through October 13 . All cards should be sent via District mail to SCS Communications (room 208). Contact Lauren Evans for more information.
Students and families are invited for popcorn and dialogue.
So much is going on in our world, and it’s important that students are able to grasp everything they’re seeing and reading in the news. Former Board Commissioner Kenneth Whalum wants to provide a place where students can discuss America’s history and its impact on current events. Mr. Whalum will host a free movie/documentary night, “Popcorn with the Pastor,” on Friday, September 29, at 6:15 p.m. at the Woodland Hills Event Center, 10000 Woodland Hills Drive. Students and their families can RSVP by calling 901-454-7777.
Casting call! Know some "cool kids"?
Each week, Local 24 features a student in the Mid-South with a unique story as a Local 24 "Cool Kid." We’ve had students appear in the past for writing grants, starting support groups and overcoming the odds to be successful. If you have a student with a story who you think deserves to be spotlighted, email [email protected] .
