Team South East Results Recap

The first half of the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games has come to an end. What a great performance by all athletes! Some stunning finishes and medals earned in many sports! See below for details of each sport! The 2nd half athletes arrived this afternoon and will start competition on Thursday, Feb. 22!

Male Curling

The boys played Wednesday morning and won their game to place 7th overall. It came down to a steal in an extra end - great job boys!
Weightlifting
A spectacular performance made by our Weightlifting team!

Speed Skating
Our young speed skaters had a great week of competition - look forward to seeing them at future games! Results are posted at www.saskgames.ca.
Gymnastics
Julie Rush made it in the Tumbling finals placing 8th overall.
Hockey
The boys played in the BRONZE medal game this morning and lost to Team Lakeland 1-3. The team placed 4th overall in the Games.
Alpine Skiing
The cold frigid weather resulted in cancellation of today's competitions.

Mekel Frombach of Edenwold had a spectacular performance on the slopes today with Alpine Skiing Slalom U14 Female earning a BRONZE medal!

Sam Penkala of Balgonie (Alpine Skiing Slalom U14 Male) had his best moment of the Games today winning a BRONZE MEDAL!

Slalom U14 – Zachary Wozniak – 7 th place
Biathlon
The Biathlon event was cancelled due to the frigid temperatures today.

Judo
Lots of medals for Team Judo!
Joey Irwin – 40kg male individual - BRONZE
Trysten Reder – 53kg female individual - BRONZE
Ashton Debruyne – 55kg male individual – BRONZE
Paige Irwin - 56 kg female individual - GOLD
Female Team Competition (Paige Irwin, Trysten Reder and Christina Stringer) - GOLD
Synchronized Swimming

Duets placed 4th overall in A Flight and 3rd in B Flight. The last day of Synchronized Swimming resulted in the girls clinching a BRONZE MEDAL in team! Congrats ladies!
