24 days to go!

32 days to go!
You have made a very significant commitment to train vigorously, achieve a goal that is personally important to you and raise important funds that will change hearts, minds and lives.   With every step you take, we will support you until you cross that finish line and complete this life changing quest!

3 Fast and Simple Steps to Reach Your Fundraising Goal

1. List 40+ friends, family and co-workers who have not yet made a donation.  Use your Facebook, LinkedIn, holiday card lists, social, civil and faith based group contacts for new ideas.

2. Update your email or letter with a countdown to race day and your goals. For example:
  • I'm excited and yes, a little nervous, with just ___ days until ___ marathon. Many of you have promised to make a donation, now is the time! My goal is ___ and with your help I know I can get there. I'm running in support of the International Dyslexia Association. Every donation will bring thousands of people the resources they need to learn how to read. Please follow this link (insert link to your fundraising page here) and make a donation to my TeamQuest page. Thank you in advance, you are touching so many people's lives and because of your actions their lives will be better.
3. Use Facebook and Twitter to update your donors about your progress, providing them with new fundraising challenges. For example:
  • In the next 24 hours I'm trying to raise $400.00, follow my link (insert link to your fundraising page here) and make a donation today!
  • If I raise __ amount in __ days, I will post an embarrassing picture of myself that you can laugh at forever! Follow my link (insert link to your fundraising page here) and make a donation today.
    • Your embarrassing moment could include dying your hair, dressing wacky for work, or wearing an arch-rival's jersey for a day.

Dyslexia Awareness Month Facts:

Children with dyslexia are in nearly every classroom, but effective reading instruction is not.

Structured Literacy explicitly teaches systematic word-identification/decoding strategies. These benefit most students and are vital for those with dyslexia.
