WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED
TCPD launches Camp Cadet
Do you know a kid who deserves some recognition? Or maybe one who needs a good old fashioned role model. Last week, Tega Cay Police launched another program geared towards children. Camp Cadet offers an opportunity to interact and build relationships with our public safety officers. The camp is FREE (can I get a wow?!) as it is funded entirely on donation. Space is limited and participants must be nominated by a school teacher, principal or community leader. For more info on participation, or to donate to this week filled with exciting activities, see our Camp Cadet page.

The buzz around town
Windhaven. A topic of conversation for City Council at their meeting last Monday, and the meeting before that. It seems everyone has been talking: social media, local leaders, school district, Planning Commission, folks a round town and maybe even around your dinner table. There is a lot of information to digest but here is the condensed version: This proposed development would be located across from TCES's car rider entrance and would contain a middle school, 20 acre park (think twice the size of Turner Field and $400K from the developer to help build it), 7 acres of commercial (double what we have @ Stonecrest minus Walmart & Wellmore), and up to 400 homes (mix of single family, townhomes and patio homes). The proposed development also plans for a road that would allow for an extension of Hubert Graham Way up to Zoar Road via Dry Run. The first home would be built in 2018. Are you an excel spreadsheet kind of person?  Check out these scenarios showing the City's tax base with and without growth. City Council will consider second and final vote on this development at their April 18th Council meeting.
JUST IN TIME
#kidsbestdayever
We can't imagine there is much planned this morning that can top top fire trucks, pancakes and the Easter bunny. It's not too late to get in on the   Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast . Pancakes will be hot at the Firehouse this morning at 8am with an Egg Hunt to follow at 11am (0-9 years of age).
HEADS UP
Hit snooze one more time!
The Fort Mill School District is on Spring Break this week! If you aren't reading this under a palm tree on the beach, we're sorry...but at least you may see some relief in traffic. It's almost as good!

Here's looking at YOU kid
The City makes every effort to put information at your fingertips. From our website, news flashes, newsletters, TV Channel, social media, flashing e-sign at City Hall, email, robocall, and notes on utility bills about upcoming events. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and reach our residents. Short of going door-to-door...WAIT! There's an idea!

While unfortunately we do not have the personnel or resources to have someone in a Tega Cay polo shirt hand delivering information, we are hoping YOU can help spread the word. Here's the idea: TC Connect. Interested? Join us.
