Mayor meets with Comporium Execs on infrastructure improvements
We've all been there....staring at the rotating "loading" circle mustering all of our willpower to refrain from clicking just one more time. Before you heave your laptop across the room, know help is on the way. Last week, Mayor Sheppard met with Comporium executives to discuss recent, as well as future, improvements to internet speed in Tega Cay. Comporium provided a summary of improvements to TC's infrastructure as well as a map showing where improvements have already been made, where improvements are currently underway, and what is planned.
We made the list again! Safewise.com rated Tega Cay second on their list of Safest Cities in South Carolina based on FBI Crime Statistics. This is the second accolade given to the City so far this year. Last month we were recognized as the #1 Smartest City in South Carolina. While we feel they could have made a smarter selection for pictures of Tega Cay, there is always this.
City campus expansion & a new restaurant on the peninsula
City Council met on Thursday to approve the annexation of a property purchased by the City in December of 2015. The building sits adjacent to City Hall and will be utilized for Public Works and Utility office space, as well as parking for City vehicles. Kudos to the Public Works crew who worked to add curb appeal to the new facility using sweat equity.
City Council also approved a new Food & Beverage contract for the Golf & Conference Center. The current contract expires this spring and John Weinbrenner, owner of all 3 City Tavern locations, is slated to move in.
John will be at our next meeting on March 21st to let the community know what wonderful changes can be expected when he opens in May.
Sharpen your tiny pencils
Mr. Putty's Funpark turned dirt Monday in their groundbreaking ceremony. With an aggressive construction schedule, owners Chris & Carol Scuderi hope to have you on the 18-hole course by May. Their 1.5 acre site on Dam Road will provide plenty of summer entertainment to keep kids of all ages busy.

Tega Cay highlighted in recent Charlotte Observer article
Christina Darnell recently published an article entitled "
Enticing Tega Cay" where she highlights the myriad of
recreational opportunities we have, as well as our proximity to Charlotte and hot housing market. Of course you already knew this which is why you already live here! You are to be commended on your foresight. It is nice to be recognized for smart decisions, isn't it?
