WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED
The skinny on housing in our area
Tega Cay and Fort Mill Councils met together on Tuesday to hear a presentation by Dr. Von Nesson, a research economist from the Darla Moore School of Business at USC. Let's rewind a little further: Earlier this year, County Council began discussing the idea of a housing freeze. There have been plenty of rumors circulating, including the freeze potentially ending in December W ith all current projects continuing to move forward ( vested property rights), instead of feeling the freeze, residents in this area would probably feel something more lukewarm-ish. Based on the April 4th meeting , it appears they will be discussing this again on April 18th . Meanwhile, Dr. Von Nesson presented data on both SC's completed recovery from the "Great Recession" and subsequent expansion .  More specifically, he discussed the contributions the housing market plays in the economic growth circle.  You can watch the meeting on our website or Comporium's Channel 115 at 7am, 1pm and 7pm every day. Word on the street is the Tega Cay and Ft. Mill Councils are planning another housing/ economic impact analysis meeting soon.

Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
A parenting  video showing the drastic differences in the beginning of the school year versus end of the school year went viral recently (translation: a lot of people liked it and shared it). While many of us can relate to this comical take on good intentions, we want to make sure you don't get lax on crosswalks and stopping for school buses. With warmer weather, there are a lot of people walking to school. Always stop for pedestrians in crosswalks as they have the right-of-way. It's the law. One question we are often asked is whether or not you have to stop for a bus on the opposite side of Tega Cay Drive. This is a divided highway so if the bus is going the opposite direction of you on TC Drive, you do not have to stop. If the bus is going in the same direction as you, you cannot overtake it (pass it). Brush up on all your regulations here
