From the NSSGA:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is  accepting comments on the withdrawal of the controversial 2015 Waters of the U.S. Rule (WOTUS) that would have allowed the federal government to regulate dry streambeds and isolated wetlands. Such a jurisdictional overreach would have impacted the permitting process for aggregates operations and increased the cost of vital public works projects with little to no environmental benefit.

NSSGA and CSSGA will submit comments on behalf of the industry in support of this effort, and asks member companies to submit comments as well. A template can be downloaded below for members to use when  submitting comments online at this website by Aug. 28.

"We are urging our members to participate in this critical first step of the regulatory process, because WOTUS, as written, was unworkable for the aggregates industry," said Laura O'Neill-Kaumo, senior vice president of government and regulatory affairs. "Only through participation can we work to move away from a one-size-fits-all approach in regulation."
Thank you for your continued support. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,

Annelise Shepherd
