This past weekend, the Shura Council held an emergency leadership meeting to discuss challenges our community has been facing since President Trump took office. Local representatives from CAIR, ACLU and NLG took part. 

One action you can take now, is to contact your elected officials in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives,to let them know how you feel. Remember, they do work for you.

Oroville, CA residents return to their homes as the Nation's tallest dam's spillway is under repair with more rain expected.

More rain is expected this week and into the weekend. Ready .gov had many resources available for severe weather, lightning and thunderstorms, floods, debris flows and more.  

The POTUS signs another executive order, Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States, which gives local law enforcement "t o perform the functions of immigration officers in relation to the investigation, apprehension, or detention of aliens in the United States under the direction and the supervision of the Secretary".

The Southern Poverty Law Center releases its spring edition with "The Year of Hate and Extremism" how was the radical right more successful in entering the political mainstream last year than in half a century.
