The Hooley on Kamm's Corners™ is Saturday, May 9 -- A Week from Saturday!

Join the fun as we present West Park's annual homecoming celebration starting at noon on Saturday, May 9, and continuing to 8 p.m. Lorain Avenue will be closed to traffic from West 165th Street to Rocky River Drive. "Hooley" is Irish slang for party or celebration. This one started out as a celebration of the new streetscape installed six years ago. Now, The Hooley™ remains an annual day of live music, festival food, entertainment, and activities for all ages. Once again, there is no charge to enter the area of The Hooley™, thanks to our generous sponsors.

Purchase unique goods and pick up interesting information from the almost 60 booths lining each side of Lorain Avenue. New this year, Cleveland Bazaar hosts a juried handmade arts and crafts show on West 168th Street, sponsored by First Federal of LakewoodBring a tote bag for your purchases of unique items, including accessories, stuffed animals, clothing, beach glass jewelry, toys, home decor, and more!

The main stage at Rocky River Drive faces east and features a mix of Celtic music and rock-n-roll. The Pipes and Drums of the Cleveland Police will help with opening ceremonies. Here's the line-up in order of appearance after the opening: The Sunrise Jones; The Donegal Doggs; Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipes and Drums; The Donegal Doggs (return); Mary's Lane; and Cats on Holiday.

The family stage at West 165th Street, sponsored by Dollar Bank, will feature entertainment for the younger crowd, including Irish dancers and musical performances by local schools. Nearby will be the Youth Center, sponsored by Neighborhood Family Practice, featuring pop-a-shot, a bounce house, a 30-foot tall fire truck slide, and engaging activities run by the West Park YMCA.

Satisfy your cravings from the abundant food offerings, such as gyros, hot dogs, kettle corn, pulled pork, ice cream, and more from a dozen food vendors. Come hungry! All the restaurants will be open, too!

The Hooley™ is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. Special thanks to the City of Cleveland and Councilman Marty Keane for their support and to sponsor Fairview Hospital!

Please join us for a great day of music, food, and family friendly fun. Bring your camera! Take pictures that show the spirit and feeling of the event, and upload your pictures to Instagram, using #TheHooley for a chance to win $25 gift certificates from our hospitality tent sponsors. Additional information can be found here. See you at The Hooley on Kamm's Corners!

Help Kamm's Corners Look Its Best for The Hooley

Join us at 10 a.m. this Saturday, May 2.
Please join the group of volunteers meeting this Saturday, May 2, to weed, plant, and mulch the public planters on Lorain Avenue. We're putting our best foot forward the week before The Hooley on Kamm's Corners. This includes the display of freshly landscaped planter beds with pretty plants and new mulch. Meet us at 10 a.m.

Please gather in front of West Park Station with work gloves and a shovel and/or trowel. Kids are welcome if they are over 12, but supervision is the parents' responsibility.

It usually takes us four hours to complete the project. We will accept whatever length of time you can give. Supplies are purchased by KCDC. This year, we also will have a trailer full of additional tools and supplies, thanks to Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and their Clean & Green Cleveland Trailer.

Feel free to simply show up, but it would be helpful for us to know you are coming (and how many) via e-mail to [email protected].

Help us display our neighborhood pride!

Annual Golf Outing to Benefit Our Y

The West Park Family Branch of the YMCA has been serving the West Park community since the branch was built in 1957. Since then, the Y has taught generations of families the important lifelong skills of water safety, physical education, and character development. The Y continues to serve the community with over 2,700 members.

With help from events like the annual golf outing along with other support from their many generous members and community partners, the West Park branch hopes to raise $75,000 in 2015. The money will be used to support a scholarship program to ensure that nobody is turned away for lack of funds. Join the cause and have fun, too, at the Hickory Nut Golf Course in Columbia Station on Friday, June 26. If you are interested in sponsoring or participating in the event, please click here.
