CAPTAIN YOGI'S USELESS
BUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Hello Everyone!

Spring has Sprung!!!! Finally!! With all the warm weather on its way it’s time to start making plans, and we’ve got a lot of them! Starting of course with our new location for our monthly socials which we seem to be settling in nicely at the Cru Pizza and Sandwich Deli. If you haven’t seen the latest, they were voted Best Sandwich Shop in the Harrisburg area on WHP 21! And let me be the first to say, the sandwiches are3 bigger than some of your heads!

Moving on we have several other things that we are gearing up for. First is the road cleanup, always a good time because we end up at the Blue Room (another great place to eat). This slated for April 22nd which is also Earth day! Coincidence? I think not. So, get your work gloves on and come on out.

Coming up June 10th is our first Cornhole tournament at The Range End Golf Course with the details coming soon. It is rumored that the top prize will be set of new cornhole boards and of course other prizes and raffles. Just so happen that Tropical Soul will be playing there later that evening for their Tropical night. It’s a good idea to make reservations for this because of being one of their bigger events.

The day after that is next installment of the Ronald McDonald House Brunch on June 11th. If you have never done this, it’s probably one of the most rewarding and most appreciated volunteering we do. You won’t believe the appreciativeness that we receive from the families that have children in the hospital and don’t have time for a hot breakfast.

Last but not least is the 3rd Annual Jakie Invitational on August 20th, yes, I said 3rd at Rich Valley Golf Course! This is our biggest fund raiser for the year, which goes to the PA Wounded Warrior Project. This is a great family event with lots of great food, drinks and raffle prizes. Tropical Soul will be there this year for the entertainment. So, start warming up your putters and see you there.

Wow! Lots of things going on this year and thank you ahead of time for supporting all of our events. REMEMBER, the only way these events can happen is with volunteers. Thanks you for all the volunteers and we are always on the lookout for more, it doesn’t take a lot of time, I promise.

The Pools (Almost) Open!

Pineapple-Lime Frozen Daiquiri
Everyone loves a frozen daiquiri, which is why this is one recipe you must have at your next party (and invite ME.)  A great tip to keep in mind is to use more frozen fruit in place of ice, which means your drink won't get watered down in the warm spring weather. Feel free to kick this recipe up another notch with fresh herbs or other citrus fruit. Enjoy another one of Crasher's Concoctions!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound frozen pineapple chunks
  • 6 ounces light rum
  • 4 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3 ounces simple syrup
  • 2 1/2 ounces dark rum
