CAPTAIN YOGI'S USELESS
BUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Summer is in full swing and it’s been a full month already, so much has been going on! Most recently was the 2 nd Annual PHIAP Corn Hole Tournament at Range End. It was a HOT tournament (temperature wise)! All had a great time and we had sixteen teams this year! We also out did last year raising money for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The total for the tournament will be announced at the July Social. And kudos to the Clappers for making it to the quarter finals. Way to represent the club. I also wanted to thank all the volunteers that helped put on a great tournament! The night moved on to an evening with Tropical Soul, which is never a disappointment!
Looks like we had some representation at the local Buffett show, especially Camden and Pittsburg with old an new members, with Tropical Soul even doing a pre-concert concert for Tiki Jim! I was able to listen on Margaritaville Radio and both sounded like a great time!

Our next big event is coming up on August 19 th. The 4 th Annual Jakie Invitational Mini Golf Tournament!  The committee has been working hard on putting it together and promise great prizes and great weather! They are still looking for volunteers the day of, if you care to join the fun! They are also looking for more donations for raffle baskets, tournament and hole sponsors. And if you haven’t signed up yet, you better hurry because last year was a sell out and tickets are going fast again. Come out for a lot of fun and help raise money for the PA Wounded Warriors!
I know it’s early but I wanted to mention that we have a couple of board positions coming open in a mere 3 months and a couple those folks are not running again. We will announce the openings next month. Please consider running for an open position because if we don’t have replacements, it could affect the future of the club or at least the way it runs. I hate being a downer but this has been a topic of discussion several times and still see the same folks at events volunteering or even attending. We need your help to survive as a club.

All that being said, we have a lot of summer to go and a lot of concerts coming up in the local area. Two of particular mention is Mac McAnally at the Forum and the Devon Allman project with Lynn’s favorite percussionist, Scott Bryant at Club XL, both in Harrisburg. There’s always Tropical Soul playing at local venues around the area and plenty of other local musicians to support!

Hope Everyone has a great summer!
Pools Open!

Share a Book with a PHriend

Have you read a good book lately that you'd like to share
with a phriend in our Club?

We’d like to start a book sharing program.
Write up a short teaser for a book you've read
and think your fellow PHAIP Phriends would enjoy it too.

If a PHriend would like to read it,
we'll get the book to them!
When they’re done we'll share it with the next Phriend!

RED RIGHT RETURN, A Buck Reilly Adventure.
Author John H. Cunningham has a background as eclectic as Buck Reilly himself. An avid traveler, island hopper, commercial real estate developer, and former editor of The Pro Review, and like Buck is an aviation enthusiast. John splits time in Key West, Virginia and New York City, so spends much of his time in the air, on the sea or researching places and plots for the Buck Reilly series.
Buck Reilly’s a lot like the rest of us—trying to make ends meet and hoping for better times. He’s living in a Key West hotel and operates Last Resort Charter and Salvage abourd a 1946 Grumman Widgeon flying boat, hunting for sunken treasure and taking the occasional passenger, no questions asked. But when he delivers a mysterious woman to a mission boat destined for Cuba, things start going downhill quick. He faces down the dark forces of Senteria priests, Cuban Secret Police, and the FBI agent with a grudge. Buck has nothing but ingenuity to save his skin and the lives he puts in peril… and prevent war with America’s longest running enemy… When you see the world through Buck Reilly’s eyes, the view will never be the same.

Stay tuned next month for GREEN TO GO.
