The Divine Feminine: The Link Between the Creative & the Spiritual in the Healing Arts?

There's growing evidence that creative expression has a role to play in healing. Long used to reduce anxiety and depression, music, art, and writing are now shown to lower blood pressure, reduce medication needs, and improve lung, liver, and immune function.

Ancient yogis - authors of the Tantric and yogic texts - event link1 wouldn't have been surprised at all by a link between healing and creativity. They believed that one force was responsible for both: prāna - the life force - known also as prāna-shakti, the divine feminine. Exquisite passages from classic sacred texts, the Hatha Yoga Pradīpikā and Suandaryalaharī , along with anecdotal stories from the author's years of research give hints as to what this means for our daily lives and for health care today.

TD Teri Degler is the award winning author/co-author of ten books including The Fiery Muse: Creativity and the Spiritual Quest (Random House, Canada). For decades she has researched the relationship between creativity, mystical experience, and the divine feminine known as Shakti, Sophia, and Shekinah. She teaches workshops in the U.S. and Canada and has written for More Magazine, Today's Parent, The Toronto Star and many other publications. Her latest book, The Divine Feminine Fire: Creativity and Your Yearning to Express Your Self, has been an Amazon.ca # 1 Bestseller in two spiritual categories and is now available in Italian and German.
