Houston Pathways Joins in House Bill 5 College Course Efforts

 

With the passage of House Bill 5, Houston Pathways is extending the progress it has already made to aid in creating a fully developed college prep course, with the collaboration of partners around the region.

 

Houston Pathways has conducted college preparation in senior high school classes for the last three consecutive spring semesters. After receiving a semester of college preparation, students averaged an increase of 1.4 levels on college entrance exams.

 

Jobs for the Future Leads Discussions on Improving Higher Education Outcomes

 

girl-book-sm.jpg On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, Jobs for the Future hosted the first of three webinars on improving higher education outcomes in the United States.

 

The webinar focused on how colleges can access and leverage data to demonstrate employment outcomes to help students. As part of this effort, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board partnered with Mark Schneider, creator and President of College Measures, to share data concerning the first year earnings of graduates of public Texas higher education institutes
