Students are engaged in three ways while using a CRA: instructionally by the teacher, individually through reflection and collaboratively through peer communication and dissection of ideas. The student work for CRAs is hands-on, inquiry-based and relevant to students' future experiences in both college and career.

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), founded in 1980, began in one high school and has grown into a comprehensive system that is now present in more than 4,900 schools nationwide.

The data collected from schools who participate in the Advancement Via Individual Determinism (AVID) system show unquestionable success rates.

Education Service Center 20, located in San Antonio, Texas, houses Learn 4 21, an advanced platform that assists K - 12 teachers, administrators and personnel in training proven effective for success. Learn 4 21 is an Education Service Center 20 initiative that is designed around 21st century skills, which has caused it to flourish into a comprehensive resource for a large audience.
