Perks is finally easing into the summer after completing the trifecta of NYC biggest tech events in the spring, running from Business Insider's Startup 2012, to Internet Week, and culminating at TechCrunch Disrupt! Though May has been rainy and dreary keeping us inside, we have some exciting projects on the horizon, churning out new concepts and re-imagining user experiences for our clients.  Here's to a sunny June...and maybe even catching a few rays during the weekend!

new bitly logoBit.ly's Shortened Links Now Termed "Bitmarks"

 

Many know link-shortening service Bit.ly for its popularity within the Twittersphere, however the company just rolled out a new spin on their old brand. Bit.ly now provides users a timeline of past bitmarks, essentially creating a social feed from which users are able to organize, share, name and denote. And if these changes haven't created enough of a mark, Bit.ly also just launched a brand new iPhone app!

Dragon Drive Adds a Voice-Controlled Platform to Your Car

 

Do we smell a solution to the texting while driving conundrum? Nuance has recently introduced the "Siri of Automobiles", allowing drivers to listen and respond to text messages and emails using only their voice. More recently, both Ford and Intel announced their vision for the connected car, from in-car applications to crowdsourced traffic information. Nuance has yet to announce its vehicle manufacturer partners, but anticipates configuring Dragon Drive into vehicles by this summer.
