Thank You, Roja!

We are experiencing one of the hottest summers ever, and I can't stop thinking about our wonderful volunteers working hard in this weather. Many are planning for upcoming fundraising events across the country for our end of the summer "Back to School" initiatives, some are attending different summer festivals, others are organizing concerts in the fall or just helping us with our posts on our social media platforms or translating and editing children's files.

We love every one of our volunteers, but I have to say Roja Kia stands out among all of them. Roja has been volunteering for last six month in different refugees camps in Greece, teaching English, Arabic and Persian to children of refugees at different levels. From pre-schoolers to high school students and even young mothers. This is her second tour in Greece, and we feel proud to sponsor her trip and volunteer work to help the most vulnerable group of refugees, children.

She is also helping terrorized children with her art therapy expertise to help them deal with terrifying memories of terrorized pasts.

I want to thank Sara for her dedication and hard work and wish her safe return. If you like to volunteer for child Foundation, please visit our volunteer page here. If you would like to fund the Child Foundation's humanitarian program, then please donate generously here.

The Persian Family Day Festival is an annual event in Toronto for Persian community. This year Festival was held on July 22 in Melastman Square.

Canada International Child Foundation had a successful presence in this year festival. The outcome was 10 new sponsors and about $750 donation for talented students in the need of financial support to continue their education and make our world a better place to live. Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors for this event.

The Mayor of Toronto John Tory visited Child Foundation booth and was surprised by the number of children who are under support of our foundation. Tory introduced his chief of staff to assist and support our Foundation in future events in Greater Toronto Area.

Liz Sandals, MPP was also among visitors to our booth. She was very interested to learn  how Child Foundation also  has helped more than 10000 children worldwide to have better life and future for their community.

Child Foundation's Kurdistan Office

We are happy to announce the grand opening of the 28th office of Child Foundation in Sanandaj of Kurdistan. Now, it is much easier to sponsor Kurdish children through our educational scholarship.

Untill now, our office in Kermanshah used to handle our Kurdish children, but now that our new office started to operate, all of CF's operations in Kurdistan will be coordinated by this office

Afghanistan's Corner
One of the most humiliating realities for refugees is a basic human need: going to the bathroom. At camps like the one in Fariab where more than 200 families live in tents, people walk miles and wait in endless lines to use unsanitary facilities, raising the possibility of disease.

This indignity is particularly crushing for girls and young women, who risk being attacked when using communal toilets late at night. Others simply try not to go, and risk contracting urinary tract infections.

In response, Child Foundation's volunteers and refugees built three bathroom units for these men, women and children who have recently escaped Taliban brutalities.

If you wish to help bring dignified sanitation to more refugees in this area, please donate to our emergency fund here.
Thank You, You are the Best !
